This process is one of the most complex, but also the best, decaffeination methods to preserve the full aroma of the coffee. No chemicals are used. The raw coffee beans are first placed in a pressure chamber and exposed to steam. Then they are rinsed with 'supercritical liquid carbon dioxide' (STP). The carbon dioxide resulting from the combination of CO2 and water then dissolves the caffeine in the beans. During the drying process, the CO2 evaporates completely, so that only the pure beans remain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnce the beans are completely dry, they are roasted like ordinary beans, gently and separately depending on the variety. The result is a round, medium-bodied espresso that is difficult to believe is decaffeinated.
